…and on our way to our next off-roading adventure. Since my husband and I had three days off in a row (to follow us along through our trip, start here), we were looking for a place to go. Off-roading and hiking were on the agenda. We decided on the Four Corners (Southwest CO where 4 states meet: Arizona, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico), then we changed our minds to Telluride. Then Grand Junction. Finally we decided on Snowmass Village. We only had three days and we didn’t want to drive a great distance. As you may have seen in a previous post, it took just as long because of construction traffic! Without a doubt, we will still visit those other locations at some point in the future.
These next images were taken as we were driving through White River National Forest on our way to Lead King Basin Loop. The loop is also in the national forest.
Forgive me. Some imageswere shotfrom the truck while it was in motion. We’d never be able to complete the loop if we stopped every time I wanted to take a picture. Window cleaner is now on our list of things to bring on trips.
I saw reflections on this lake, and had to stop to capture them!
On our way, we passed through the small town of Marble, Colorado (130 residents in 2013. .40 sq miles):
Then we came upon Beaver Lake:
We drove past another lake:
I was going to have a separate post for reflections, but it was part of our drive, so I addedthem to this post.
So to prevent serious beauty and scenery overload, I’m going to end this here and you can see Part II here!
