Our getaway starts here.
We finally arrived at our hotel, The Stonebridge Inn.Because of traffic, it was already dark outside. The daylight photos were taken as we were checking out. The evening photos are from the first night.
What a beautiful, romantic place to spend a few days, although we left after breakfast and didn’t return until evening. I’d love to go back when I could spend a week without so much sightseeing!
The room was excellent, the staff were excellent and extremely helpful, and the food was magnificent!

This is the area where we had one breakfast and one dinner. I can’t pass up a fire if I can help it!

This is what I had for dinner the second night. Ruby Red Trout with brown sugar bourbon sauce, grilled asparagus, toasted hazelnuts, Yukon gold mashers. YUM! I never eat fish without tarter sauce, no matter what kind, but they didn’t have any and thesauce was fantastic!
My husband only likes ribeye steak. That’s it. The only steak that they have is a Flat Iron Steak. He ordered it. His steak came with cimichurri, bacon braised kale, and hand cut fries. He was pleasantly surprised!
We booked our room through Expedia. We had the choice to book with breakfast or without. It was $11 more a person. My husband said not to do it, that we’d find mom and pop places (which I normally like), butI over-ruled saying that I didn’t want to have to deal with looking for places early in the morning. Thankfully so! There are only resorts around there (mainly). No fast food (which isn’t a bad thing). It also turned out that they charge about $16.95 for a breakfast. With our getting it through Expedia, we saved!
We also lucked out with our travel dates. We found out that they were closing down the day we checked out. They close down to prepare for ski season. They weren’t opening until Thanksgiving.
Our second day, we went off-roading in White River National Forest on the Lead King Basin Loop. You can see all the fun here!
