I found Carol through people at my high school who she had taken previous pictures for and I eventually came across her Instagram page and instantly fell in love with her craft. This is where the magic begins! We get to meet in person for the first time — you, your parents, and me. We will talk about locations, your vision, and the gorgeous product options available to display your final images. If we are the right fit, we will get your session and Design & Ordering Appointment on the calendar!
SENIOR
SESSION
This is YOUR day! You have waited for this moment and now it is finally here. You have chosen your locations, packed your favorite outfits and accessories, maybe grabbed some props to borrow, and now it is time to show the world just how amazing you are!
DESIGN & ORDERING
APPOINTMENT
Same day as your session! While you go grab a bite to eat, Carol gets everything ready. Then you come back, see your images for the very first time, and choose your absolute favorites. Warning - sometimes the dads cry during the slideshow. Just saying! 😄
ORDER
PICK-UP / Delivery
It is like Christmas morning! Carol gets just as excited as you do when your order arrives. Your products will typically be ready within 4 weeks and Carol will reach out personally to schedule your pickup. Get ready to fall in love all over again!

What makes your experience different?
I don't just show up, snap some photos, and send you a digital download link - that would be a disservice to you and your senior. Every session is custom planned around your senior's personality, passions, and style. From your very first consultation all the way through product pick-up/delivery, I am with you every step of the way. The result is not just great photos. It is an experience your whole family will remember.
How far in advance do we need to book our portrait session?
The sooner the better! Popular dates, especially weekends and summer months, fill up fast in Northern Colorado. I recommend reaching out at least 3 months in advance to secure your preferred date. That said, if you are working with a shorter timeline, reach out anyway and I will do my best to make it happen!
Do you help with outfits?
Yes! I love helping seniors put together looks that feel authentically them. Every client receives a custom session guide with outfit tips and inspiration before their session. You will also chat through ideas during your consultation, and you are always welcome to text me photos of your outfits beforehand. No outfit stress allowed!
And here is a little bonus - I have a collection of props and accessories available for you to borrow during your session, including jewelry like necklaces bracelets, rings, hats, and some outerwear pieces. Sometimes the perfect finishing touch is already waiting for you!
Can we request specific poses or styles for our portrait session?
Absolutely! Your session should look and feel like YOU, not like everyone else's portraits. Before your session we will have a consultation to talk through your vision, style, and any specific ideas you have in mind. I tailor every single session to your unique personality because cookie cutter portraits are not my thing. Never have been, never will be!
What locations do you photograph?
I photographs seniors throughout Northern Colorado, including Greeley, Loveland, Fort Collins, Ault, and all the great spots in between. Have a location in mind that is a little further out? Reach out and ask! A travel charge may apply for locations outside the standard service area, but I'll will always let you know upfront.
What about the weather?
We are at Mother Nature's mercy out here in Northern Colorado! I keep a close eye on the forecast starting a week out and check daily as your session approaches. If the weather looks questionable, I will reach out the day before to reschedule. No drama, no stress!
What is a typical turnaround time from our Design & Ordering Appointment to when we receive our product order?
Your Design and Ordering Appointment takes place the same day as your session! After we wrap up your portraits, you and your family can go grab a bite to eat while I get everything ready. Then you come back, see your images for the first time, and choose your favorites together. It is one of my favorite parts of the whole experience! Once your order is placed, your gorgeous products will typically be ready for pickup within 4 weeks. I work with a professional labs and personally review every single order before it gets to you. If you have a specific deadline, just let me know!
Do you offer digital files?
I do! Digital files are available in select Collections. In my experience most clients do not actually need full resolution files - what they really want is beautiful images to share with family and friends on social media. I offer social media sized files delivered through a convenient app that lives right on your phone for easy sharing anytime, anywhere. Your teen can share their favorites instantly and you can text grandma the good ones! And honestly? Nothing beats having your images printed and displayed beautifully in your home where you can see them every single day!
What can I expect my investment to be?
Carol Dunnigan Photography is a full service, boutique portrait experience, not a shoot and burn operation. Every client pays a booking fee at their consultation to secure their date. From there, your investment depends on the session type and products you choose during your Design and Ordering Appointment. The Essential Session and The Experience Session are priced differently, and I offer both a la carte pricing and curated Collections to fit your family and your budget. Most families invest $1,000 or more in their portrait experience, and they will tell you it was worth every penny. I will walk you through every single option so there are no surprises and no pressure. Ever.
