– TAKEN FROM AN OLD EMAIL OF MINE / 2007 –
The next campground we went to on our trip was Bahia Honda State Park (the locals pronounce it Baya). There are two campgrounds and they have cabins to rent. Sandspur is more for pop-ups and tents. Very shaded private sites. Buttonwood is for anyone + large RVs. Some sites are right on the water, but face the bridge. The best choice of sites that I found for the future is #14 or #13. They face the Flagler Bridge. Both areas have beaches right there. We stayed on #19 & #22. The restrooms are clean. There’s a museum, gift shop/concession/dive shop. Kayak rentals. Lots of room to bike. Cabins to rent. They don’t have fire rings. Only stand-up grills. You can swim from your site – in any body of water. Hiking/biking. Beautiful views!
