Visited in 2008…
We had a great timecamping at Wekiwa Springs for the Memorial Day weekend. We stayed on site #50. All the sites were pretty nice. Great trails (My husband even saw the back-end of a black bear!). There are many places to bike ride/walk, a playground, canoe rental (beautiful Wekiwa river!), and Springs to swim in.
Our site got a little flooded, but being Florida, it soaked in to the ground pretty quickly.
They’ve got a beautiful river to canoe/kayak on. You should have seen the river when we were canoeing. We had a little rain during a canoe trip – actually a downpour with lightning! My husband was paddling past EVERYONE! When we got back I had to walk back to the truck with my eyes closed and with him guiding me, it was coming down so hard.
