From a trip taken in 2008…
On our way back from Sebastian Inlet, we stayed at Lake Kissimmee State Park in Lake Wales. It’s a great big park with nice sites – even some grassy sites. We stayed on site 35. It was a very private site. The part where our camper and truck were parked was narrow, then it opened up behind us, and that’s where the picnic table and fire pit were.
Plenty of places to ride bikes and walk and hike. There’s fishing, an observation tower, boat ramp and playground. The bathrooms were very clean!
The sites are nice and shady. One thing I will say though, I would have enjoyed it much more if it were a cooler month since there is no swimming.
