Myakka River State Park, Sarasota, FL

Visited in November 2008.
We had a great family trip for Thanksgiving! Myakka River State Park had many family gatherings that weekend.
We stayed on site 19. I personally think that is their largest site:

Honestly, I’m not sure about the bathrooms. Asmost FL state park bathrooms are exceptionally clean, I’ll lean towards that! Although, being a holiday weekend, it may have been over-used:) – Iused thecamper the wholetime.
They have a great educational center. Many hiking trails. Plenty of places to walk and ride your bike. They’ve got (it’s all coming back to me) a nice gift shop and they even serve food. They rent canoe’s/kayaks/bikes. They’ve got fishing. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. A rope bridge in the tree hammock. A playground. Airboat tours. Lots of wildlife including the alligators and birds that I have above.
