– TAKEN FROM AN OLD EMAIL OF MINE FROM 2007/2008, BUT ADDED TO IN 2015 AFTER ANOTHER VISIT –
Hey all!
This past weekend we went camping at Kelly Park/Rock Springsin Apopka. Our site was #4 (but would also like to camp on sites 16 and 19). We drove to Wekiwa Springs State Park to go canoeing for the day (about 10-15 min. away). We had a great time! My brother-in-law and his wife were with us and so was my son’s friend.
Kelly Park has Rock Springs on its property. Beautiful park! 20+ campsites. Very clean bathrooms. Extra large picnic tables at sites. Concrete picnic table pads. Great trails. Several playgrounds. Many picnic areas. A couple of volleyball courts. Concessions, etc. Wonderful area for younger kids (Not to say that everyone else won’t enjoy it!). We saw about 8 deer jumping over something on our walk. All the other adults in the group saw a bunch of wild turkeys (everyone except me) and raccoons.
The RV SuperShow is at the FL ST Fairgrounds this weekend! We’ll be there Saturday. Never been there before!
Rock Springs
In August of 2015 I went back to Florida to visit family and we went tubing at Rock Springs for the day. It was much nicer to swim in August than in January which was above (hence the wet suit). The other difference between January and August were the numbers of people! Here are some images from that trip:

Looks like you were in our back yard, so to speak. Our daughter lives in Apopka.
Beautiful place! We lived in Lakeland for 15 yrs!
Rock Springs was a favorite place during my childhood. It was largely undeveloped at that time.
That must have been beautiful!
Cool and refreshing just looking at the scenes!
If you know anything about Florida springs, they’re a constant 72 degrees. Burr. I had a wet suit on. Lol
I have the most wonderful memories swimming there as a child, so much fun, me an my five year old daughter are flying from California next week so she can experience in on the fun !!!awesome adventures!!!
Have a great time!
Looks like a great time!
